SIR IAN HAMILTON.

HiS TOUR OF INSPECTION. [in the" latest District Orders appear the following references to the visit-of General Sir lan Hamilton, In-spector-'Geiieral of Overseas .Forces, who next month will carry out an inspection of the men in the Wellington 'military distinct: —

At the forthcoming inspections at camp of the Territorial Force, and of Cadets at the various centres, by the Inspector-General of the Oversea Forces, the General Officer Commanding desires that no pains be spared to ensure the proper keeping in order of the parade- ground so that there may "be'no "invasion of it by the general public, such, as he understands, was the case on the occasion of the visit of Lord Kitchener. In order to ensure uniformity and system in arrangements made as regards the parade ground-referred to above, it is desired that portions of the parade ground be roped off, seats provided, and'entrances made, at the saluting'point; taking the sketch helow as" a guide, hut which may lie re-arranged or modified after the approval of the Officer Commanding the District has been obtained. Fntrance to certain of the enclosures described may be regulated by ticket (to include a lady), or other approved me-thod.--(The sketch referred to .Hows for a space for the Inspector-General, the General Officer Commanding, and the Staff, .space being reserved to the right for ' judges, Ministers' of the Crown, magistrates, members of Parliament, members of local-bodies, hon. Tefritoriais, Press, etc.,' and on the left for retired officers, officers of the reserve", motor and national reserve, chaplains- veterans, etc.) Officers and other ranks having uniform, and who are entitled to wear it, are asked to do so, but this should not deter those not having uniform from attending.

Ex-volunteers, members of South African contingents and all holders of war and service medals are invited to wear them with uniform or ordinary dress as the case may Be. At the Inspector-General's inspections,"hars will be worn by all officers and troops, except umpires and skelotoh forces' who will wear caps.
