WOMAN’S 1 DEATH IN CHURCH. [Pub Pkebs Association.] Wellington, April 5. A tragic occurrence took place at St. Anne’s Church, Wellington South, on Friday night. While service was being hold, a member of the congregation, Mrs Mary Agnes Jones, a widow, wfio resided in Mansfield street, died suddenly from heart failure. Dr. Gleeson was called, and on arrival pronounced life to be oxtinst. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Napier, April 3. A laborer, aged SG, who was admitted to the hospital last month under the name of James Barry, attempted to commit suicide yesterday afternoon by cutting his throat with a razor. He was found in the lavatory by one of the nurses. He afterwards told a priest his name was Barrett, and that he came from Palmerston North. A FISHERMAN DROWNED. Thams, April 6. Charles Bush, fisherman, 27, was drowned while fishing in the Thames River yesterday. He was engaged cleaning nets when the dinghy capsized. His mate saw Bush swimming to the launch, hut he suddenly sank before assistance could reach him. Police parties are dragging the river. MAN FOUND DEAD. Masterton, April 6. Sidney Richard Mason, single, 30, was found dead at Gladstone this morning. Ho went shooting yesterday and as ho had not returned last night a search was made.
