BURGLARY IN AUCKLAND.

AN AMERICAN ARRESTED. [Per Press Association.! Auckland, April G. Arthur Hamilton, 42, an American, was arrested on Saturday on a charge of stealing jewellery valued at £172 from Peter Swanberg, second-hand dealer, in Upper Queen Street. The burglary was committed on October 12 or 13, when the safe was blown open and jewellery and £6 10s in cash were stolen. Several burglaries have been committed in the city lately. A quantity of the stolen property, including some of Swanberg’s jewellery, has been recovered by detectives.
