President Huerta,' in opening Congress, asserted that his whole purpose would be to restore and maintain peace in Mexico. He was willing to make any sacrifice to achieve this. It is understood that General Villa is still fighting around Torreon. The capital is calm, though it is fully understood that if Torreon falls the seige of Mexico is probable. TERRAZA'S ESCAPE. Unconfirmed reports state that Louis Terrazas, a wealthy Mexican, who was threatened with death unless his father ransomed him, escaped and reached Saltillo safely.
