THE COUNTY ELECTION.
FOR EAST Rlblßb MEMBERS. The extraordinary vacancies at present existing for representation of the East Riding on the Stratford County Council have caused a good deal of interest among County ratepayers, and' it is safe to say that on April Bth, the day -of the election, the polling will be heavy. Messrs Walter -and Were, who resigned from, their seats owing to a disagreement with the rest of the Council over the East Riding foremen, have been nominated; and two other candidates are also in tho fiekUMr N. B. Fryclay, of Ngaero, and Mr J. A. Stanford, of Huiroa. The polling places have been fixed as follows:— Toko, the Assembly Hall; Douglas, the Public Hall; H\ti-r roa, Mr< Stanford’s store; Stratford, the County Office. The polling hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
