THE PANAMA CANAL.
TOLLS EXEMPTION QUESTION. i'By Electric Telkguaph—Copyright [United Prebh Association.] (Received 11.15 a.m.) Washington, March 30. President Wilson denied making a deal with Mr Ayirell, Sir Edward Grey's private secretary, regarding the Panama Canal tolls and the Mexican question. The President declared that such a suggestion was the crowning insult to a number of insults which marked the Panama debate. The President told callers to-day of two debaters in a country debating club, where one side, on getting the worst of the argument, induced their most muscular champion to call his opponent "liar!" thus precipitating a pugilistic contest. Asked after this story if he was to fight, the President smiled and said he didn't need to.
