RANGITIKEI RACES. IPeb Press Association. I Bulls, March 25. The Rangitikei Racing Club’s annual meeting opened in fine weatacr, though it is windy. The course is in good order, and there is a good attendance. Results: — Scott Memorial Handicap, 6 fur-longs.—-Ratana 1, Simple Sam 2, ie Hou Hon 3. All started. Won easily by three lengths. Time, Imin 16src. Maiden Hack Handicap, 7 furlongs. —His Eminence 1, Grey Guard 2, Hoopoe 3. Scratched: lluapuhi, Bivouac-. Won by half a length. Time, 33 l-ssec.

A Sydney cablegram states that Sir Joseph Carruthers has published the opinion that the .totalisator is not illegal, and means betting within the strict meaning of the Act. Mr Holman promises an immediate enquiry.
