Proceedings have commenced against Maxime 'Gorky on a charge of blasphemy preferred in 1905 in connection with one of his novels. (Gorky'is a well-known Russian novelist, who was born in Nizo-Nov-gorod in 1868. He was successfully a painter of ikons, peddler of Kvass, scullery-boy, gardener, watchman, and baker’s apprentice. His publications include “About the Devil,” “More about the Devil,” and “The Outcasts, 1902.”
