4) —, —_ | HIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES.
A large, appreciative, and elite audience'witnessed the big change of pictures at Bernard's Theatre last evening, when the famous detective drama, "In the Bishop's Carriage," a tale of the underworld, featured little Miss Mary Pickford, America's favorite actress both on the stage and in the picture business. The film shows every phase of high and low class pickpockets. The supporting pictures are all above the ordinary run, and include an A.B. masterpiece, "Madonna of the Storm," "Latest Pathe Gazette," "British Industries," and a bunch of scenics and comics of high degree. The special music by the professional orchestra is a treat. This programme will be' repeated to-, night. ;''
On Monday the New Bison feature film, entitled "The Girl and the Tiger," will be the star. The scenario i-iins as follows: —A young American naval officer, Lieut. Clifford, pays the British resident a visit, and is also entertained by the Maharajah. He becomes enamoured with' the Maharajah's favorite Neutch girl, Zahanria. A secret meeting takes place between them. Singh, the Maharajah's spy, observes the meeting, and reports to his master. The latter decides that Clifford'must be killed, and schemes to have him killed in a tiger hunt. The Neutch girl comes to his aid. She is attacked by the tigers, but reaches Clifford in time to save the situation.
TOWN HALL PICTURES. i An appreciative audience were again well pleased with the programme last night. To-night there will be an additional attraction by a local comic singer, Mr Bert Davis. The management has engaged Mr Davis for one weekonly, and he will appear every night in the latest comic songs. In conjunction with this attractioen, there will be Professor Henderson, the king picture musician, and a well screened programme by the latest biograph machine. The star picture next week is by the Nordisk Company, "The Clown's Revenge." This film is one of the most expensive pictures, the proprietor has shown at the Town Hall. It depicts circus life with romance and revenge running through the drama. The star picture this evening is "The Paper Trial," 3000 ft drama. "Old Songs and Old Memories" is a Rexdrama, a tale of the American civil war. "On the Alps of Retchie" is a scenic taken on the spot. i
