An,indent agent, named Frederick Schlaich, was. arrested to-day upon, a charge, that/.about -December 19, 1913, ho, did commit.theft, having received the. sum of £6lO 4s .on. terms requiring him,to, account for or pay it to Messrs Hughes and. Cesser, indent agents, of Auckland,; andt that he fraudulently omitted to. account for or pay it. At the., time of. the. alleged offence the accused was in , the employ of Messrs Hughes.and Cosser, but since Christmas.he has been carrying on a business of his own.
