A serious split in the Labor Partywas narrowly averted. At a caucus meeting at Minahan, a resolution; was moved that Mr Flowers be not appointed Minister of Health. A bitter sectarian debate commenced, but Mr Holman promptly stopped the discussion, threatening to re-, sign if the motion Avas carried. He declared that the Ministry had the sole rights of administration. The motion was defeated by a twp-to-one majority. ■•'* : •
