Mr Robert Spence, senior partner of the well-known legal firm of Spence and Stanford, after thirteen years residence in Stratford, is taking a well-earned holiday, and leaves New Zealand in a few days' time for Australia, en route-for London. At the Stratford Club last night Mr Spence was entertained at a very pleasant gathering, and amid .hearty expressions of high esteem and goodwill from members, presentations were made in recognition of Mr Spence's many services to the Club, and the warmest wishes were proffered for a pleasant year's journeying, and a safe return to Stratford. Mr Spence suitably acknowledged the honor done him. The gathering of members was an exceptionally large one.
