At Lord Emmott’s instance, the British Nationality and-' Status of Aliens Bill was read a second time in the Lords. It unifies naturalisation throughout the Empire as agreed between the Motherland and the Dominions. Lord Selborne, on heartily welcoming the measure, described the Bill as one of great importance.
