there is a severe outbreak of plague among the natives. A panic has sot in in certain sections of the native population. Tne stampede to South India is followed in numerous cases by men being found dying in the streets in public places. Certain steamship companies will discontinue booking passengers to Singapore and the Far East. Being, the homeward season, this is regarded seriously.
