Melbourne, March 17. Mr Fisher, on opening his pre-ses-sional campaign, appealed to the Go- ' eminent to go to the country, hut said he considered nothing would he more ridiculous than a double dissolution. If the Senate dissolved, it would become the shuttlecock of political parties and keep the Democracy of the State in constant turmoil. This would suit the Government who welcomed an excuse for doing nothing.
