Also started: 3 French Rose, St. Fdnin, Multikolf, Tiwari, Peacemaker, Forelight, Merry Jack, Discussion, Glouria. Worn by two lengths, half a length between second and third. Time, Imin 41 l-ssec.

Flying Handicap, six furlongs. —s Zeus 1, 8 Ventura 2, 1 Blue Lake 3. Also ’ started : 2 Makura, 6 Labor Day, 9 Our King, 3 Bertrada, 4 Adroit, 10 Heather, 6 The Hague, 7 Dayfly, 11 Alces. Won by half a length, the third horse close up. Time, 2min 14sec.

A cablegram received in Wellington on Tuesday records a further success for the New Zealand horseman, H. Gray, who rode Recallor in a race at Melbourne. Recaller is raced by Mr Darcy Eccles. owner of Wallalo.
