o HSS MAJESTY’S PICTURES, A largo audience greeted the allstar programme presented at Bernard’s Theatre last night. Ihe programme was somewhat lengthy on account of the special Pathe colored feature drama, “The Life of Christ,” which is a marvellous film throughout, depicting in' great detail and wonderful acting, a faithful representation of the Saviour. “The Latest Pathe Gfazette,” “Tivalio and its Cascades,” “The Curse of the Golden Land,” a Vitagraph drama of great power is, indeed, the best that this famous company has yet turned out. /Monday evening will be the anniversary of Bernard’s picture show, and Madame Bernard lias decided to give a hearty complimentary -welcome :o all her patrons. The programme is well chosen. Amongst the many star films is the A.K. latest released irama, “The Sham Sheriff,” the principal figure in which is a young man, who leaves his parents to go West and ;eek his fortune. The old folks convive up visions of their son’s happiless. The mother then decides to go .Vest on a surprise visit to her boy. Vhen she reaches the township she .sks to be conducted to the sheriff’s muse, and when she arrives she finds ■flat he is away.. As a matter of fact, -he is just after arresting her soli for lorse-steaiing. The old lady produces icr boy’s photograph and then the strangers realise who she is. To ivoid shocking the mother, they peraiade the sheriff to let his prisoner ict the role of sheriff until she departs. His mother is overjoyed it seeing her son in such an honored position. After she has gone, the Jieriff takes his prisoner off to gaol. The latest Tango dance music will be introduced nightly by the professional ■ irchestra.

TOWN HALL PICTURES. The programme last night was revived with applause. The star pic;ure, “The Dream,” was a magnificent liece of acting. A brother and sister ire staying at the Grand Hotel, where ho Due D’Ambrosi falls in love with :he girl. She loves a solicitor, Robert Boucher, hut the brother induces her o marry the Duke. The lovers part, .ud after five years the Duke dies aid the girl writes to Robert that she s free. The Duke’s secretary is in :ove with Valentine, and determines o part them, intercepts the letter, md takes it himself to Robert’s office. While there he steals important papers and hides them in Valentine’s landbag. Robert misses them and ;oes to Valentine and tells her about :he loss. She opens her handbag find die papers are discovered. He will not believe her innocence and casts her off for ever. This is a most heaufifiilly acted film, the dressing and appointments being superb. “Lieutenant Daring and Hie Labor Riots” was a splendid picture, rousing the audience to a pitch of excitement. Phis film is worth the money for admission alone. “The Artists Romance” was very laughable. “Tho Cranberry Industry” was an educational film, while “Choosing a Husband” was also very good. The comic “Everybody’s doing It,” was screamingly funny. The programme last night was one of the best shown in the Town Hall, and will bo repeated to-night.
