THE PANAMA EXHIBITION.

,MEW ZEALAND PARTICIPATION. I Following are extracts from the ' report of a conference held at Wellington on February 6th, between th< 1 Premier and delegates from A. and P. Associations, Industrial Associations and Chambers of Commerce, relative to the representation of New Zealand at the Panama Exposition : That the Department of Agriculture act as the New Zealand executive committee for the Panama Pacific Exposition, to be held at San Francisco. That central committees be formed at Auckland, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Greymouth, Christchurch, Tiniaru, Oamaru, Dunedin and j Invoi'cargill, and that these central committees arrange for committees at other centres where necessary. That the central committees consist of representatives of the Chambers of Commerce, A. and P. Associations, and Industrial Associations in the various centres the committees to have power to add the representatives of any organisation or of individuals willing to assist. That the New Zealand Executive arrange for the inspection of exhibits at the place of origin prior to their despatch and receive packages at Wellington and arrange for their shipment to and return from San Francisco in due course. The. Railway Department will carry, exhibits to the ports free, the Union | S.S. Coy. will cany them to San Francisco without charge, and the Gov-' eminent will meet the expense of j other intermediate and terminal; charges at Wellington and San Fran-! ciseo. Where necessary in the case cf the smaller classes of exhibits the J Government will also provide shelv-j ing or rough stands. It will tliere-j fore be seen that the exhibitors' in-1 forests have been carefully conserved and that beyond the first cost of his exhibit, show cases and delivery to rail or U.S.S. Co. steamer, he incurs no further expense. No charge

will be levied by the Exposition authorities for space in any of tha buildings. Reports are due to arrive early regarding provision for refrigerated products and live stock.
