The Church of England year book shows that there were 559,926 baptisms, a decrease of 18,800 during the year; 2,328,707 Easter communicants, a decrease of 100,000; 2,541,268 Sunday scholars, a decrease of 17,250; and 239,018 confirmation, an increase of 4533.
