SETTLEMENT ARRIVED AT.
£Bt Electric Telegraph-—Copyright [United Press association.] (Received 9.15 a.m.) Sydney, March 7. The strike settlement which has been signed by the Premier and employers, provides for work to lie ieauraed forthwith on the rates of pay existing on February 1. A variation of the existing award will be referred to an expedited sitting of he Roaid of Appeal. The question now before the Board whether the working hours he fortynine or fifty will lie settled forthwith on the basis of forty-nine and a-half. There will he no victimisation on either side. The Union pledges itself to refer all future disptues to an industrial tribunal without cessation of work. Failure to absorb all labor immediately will not be regarded as a breach of faith on the part of employers. The settlement applies to all the allied trades. Melbourne, March 7. The agreement between the mas to r butchers and men has been signed, and operates on April 9th.
