INDECORUM OF WOMEN'S DRESS
[By Electric Telegraph—Coptrisbtj [Umtku Press ABeoQiaTioM.j (Received 9.15 a.m.; Melbourne, March 5.
The Australasian Women's Conference resolved that all members of the association are afraid of the prevailing fashion of indecorous attire. The mover of the resolution, in a warm condemnation of the prevailing fashion, said there was a dreadful set in trams and trains of women who had lost all sense of decency and modesty. She was surprised the Government had not taken action. If the unfortunate class of women wore such costumes, the police would arrest them. It was degrading to respectable women to see others wearing insufficient clothing to cover the body. She saw the window display of Tango under. skirts being viewed by more men than j women. A delegate interjected: -'Like their cheek!"
Another speaker urged the women to take action to prevent such displays of indecency, which were shocking and disgraceful.
