There was fine weather and bright sunshine and another big crowd for the second day of the A.J.C. meeting. Wallalo won the Cup in great style. Cri'ay only arrived from New Zealand a few hours before mounting Wallalo on Saturday. Ho rode him a splendid race in the Cup, which was run in record time. Sea Prince was suffering from a split hoof. An explanation of Wallalo's running on Saturday as compared with his failure on the previous Saturday was accepted by the stewards. Kesults:— Hopeful Stakes, five furlongs.— Rantyga 1, Wormwood 2, Van Biene 3. 'Fifteen started. Won by a head, half a length between the next. Time, lrain 2|sec. Ascot Vale Stakes, 1000 sovs, six furlongs, for two-year-olds—Woorak 1, Andesine 2, Traquette 3. Eight started. W r on easily by five lengths, four lengths between second and third.
