Trentham, March 4. The weather was almost perfect at the commencement of the shooting this morning, but as the morning wore on a light tricky wind from the rear prevailed. The proceedings opened with the Otago Match, 10 shots at 800 and 1000yds. Masefield (Sounds) handed in two good cards of 47 and 1G 9:i. Similar totals were also reached by A. Henderson (Sounds), and H. Loveday (Ohura). Oliver (Ohura) made. 46, but fell to pieces at the longer range, rising from the mound with 27 only. Possibles were made at the 800yds by Pickering, Black (Rangitikei), Carter (Nelson), Flynn (Auckland), H. Loveday (Ohura), and White (Auckland).

Prinicpal results: Masefield (Sounds), A. Henderson (Sounds), H. Loveday (Ohura) 93; W. Clung (Nelson), Dickson (Linton), Carter (Nelson) 90; Milroy (Nelson), Bent (Auckland), Hunt (Suburbs), Mclntosh (Rangitikei), Cheeseman (Tuamarina), G. Loveday (Ohura), Sharland (Nelson), Bolton (Opaki), Glassford (Hastings), Gillan (Dunedin), 89. The following are now leading for the Belt aggregates:—Masefield (Sounds), 504, Sinunonds (Blenheim) 531, Milroy (Nelson) 530, H. Loveday (Ohura) 5‘25, Cheeseman (Tuamarina) 523, Oliver (Upper King Country) 522.
