A mass meeting of the Federated Operative Bakers’ Union has been called for Saturday to consider the taking of a ballot in favor of ceasing work. THE MELBOURNE BUTCHERS. Melbourne, February 25. By a large majority the employees have decided to accept the master butchers’ offer for a settlement. THE EMPLOYERS WANT NO (Received 9.3 a.m.) Sydney, February 25. The ironworkers dispute was discussed at a Cabinet meeting, but it is entirely overshadowed by the meat strike. If the trouble is not settled, foundry employees, builders,'' bi'iklay. ers and carters will be involved at the ond of the week. The Employers’ Association has forwarded a letter to Mr Holman to the effect that any proposals fr settlement will have to be made for the whole body of.strikeis and masters—thgy will have no piecemeal settlement. It is estimated that sixty foundries are affected and that eight thousand men nr© tile.
