Oswald Coutts, son of Councillor Coutts, a Justice of the Peace, was shot by a cook whose name is unknown. It appears that a dispute arose through the cook desiring to leave Coutts’ service against the latter’s wishes. After firing the first shot, the cook reloaded the gun, -sayingi “I’ll make sure of him.” He blew the top of Coutts’ skull off and then took poison and died. ✓
