FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’' REQUEST. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright! [United Press Association.] (Received 10.50 a.m.) Sydney, February 24. A deputation representative of the Friendly Societies asked Mr Cann (Treasurer) to urge the Government to take steps to amend the Arbitration Act to provide for a readjustment of the terms of remuneration and the condition’s of contract at present existing between members of the British Medical Association and the organised Friendly Societies. Mr Cann promised to bring the matter before Cabinet, but said ho was uncertain whether the doctors could be brought under the Act, as their body was not a registered trade union.
