A verdict of wilful murder was returned against Frederick Houghton for shooting dead bis father and younger brother at Whatton, Nottinghamshire. The evidence showed that prisoner was an insurance agent and held insurances on bis brooher’s life for £14,750. A doctor warned his parents in 1913 that Frederick was suffering from epilepsy, and that weapons ought to bo kept out of his reach. After shooting his father he deliberately re-loaded and shot his brother.
