Witnesses described the Count’s nephew as a drunken rake. Letters were read showing that lie had had culpable relations with the Countess for a considerable time. Count Mielczynski has remained in custody since Ins arrest, attnough. he .ire red £‘do,ooo as Bail. The prosecution objected to all jurymen with Polish names, and the defence refused all official landowners with distinctive German names.
