The Daily Mail denies that Britain is coding the New Hebrides to France. SAFEGUARDING AUSTRALIA. HER INTERESTS TO BE WATCHED Melbourne, February 22. Mr Glynn declined to make any statement regarding the rumor of the cession of the New Hebrides to France. He had received certain information from the Imperial Government, but could not make it pubile at present, but the people of Australia could rest assured that their interests would not be lost sight of. THE PREMIER NOT ADVISED. ADVICE FOR MR PATTON. (Received 9.10 a.m.) Melbourne, February 22. Mr Cook states that no whisper of the cession of the New Hebrides to France has reached him. He thinks that there is no justification whatever for the statement. He considers that it would he well if Rev Patton would either authenticate such statements or cease making them. The Government receives advice from the most authoritative sources on this subject.
