The King and Queen and Princess Mary on Saturday visited the East India and London Docks, and inspected the methods of handling curiosities in Chinese and Japanese trade, also the storing of ivory and spices.— London P.A. cablegram.

The Rev. Reader left this morning to attend the annual conference of the Methodist Church at Dunedin. He expects to be away for about a fortnight.
Mr Massey left Auckland for Hastings on Sunday night to open the Cool Storage Company’s new stores. He leaves for Wellington on Wednesday, and a few days later goes to the South Island, visiting Nelson, the West Coast and Central Otago.— P.A.
Lord Wimbornc’s death is reported by a London Press Association cablegram. Ivor Bertie Guest, created Baron Wimbornevin 1880, was born at Dowlais in 1835, being tno son of Sir Josiah Guest. He was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge. His landed estate amounted to 83,600 acres.
The late Mr Charles Coley was buried at Kopuatama Cemetery yesterday, the coffin being followed to the grave by a large number of friends. The Rev. Father Maples conducted the ceremony at N the graveside. The local Lodge of Foresters was represented, deceased having been a member of Lodge Waireka, New Plymouth.
Mr T. C. Fookes, who has been president of the Stratford Football Club for many years and who leaves shortly on a health visit to England, was met at Messrs. Jackson Bros.’ office on Saturday afternoon by members of the Football Club and supporters of football generally. On behalf of those present, Mr R. Masters presented Mr Fookes with a travelling rug, his 'remarks being endorsed by Messrs C. and E. Jackson and Fearon. Mr Fookes suitably responded.
