AMENDMENTS ASKED FOR. [Pee Pberr Association. 1 Auckland, February 21. A deputation representing the Pres•yterian Assembly of .Vow Zealand iterviewed the Premier on tho sub>ct of legislation in the interests of emperance reform. It was stated hat the deputation represented the hole Presbyterian Church—about >30,000 people. They asked that a 5-5 icr cent, majority should determine >oth national prohibition and national '.o-license, also that these two issues ie kept separate l , and that hotels hould observe a weekly half-holiday. .Mr Massey, replying, said a Hill giving a 55 per cent, majority for national prohibition had been circulat'd, and after careful consideration, ind after hearing the views of various leputations, he advised them strongly o leave it at that.
