The population of New South Wales at December 31st last was 1,932,456, an increase for the year of 53,494. The official stock returns show that the number of cattle in New Sou£h Wales at January Ist was 2,472,789, a decrease of 150,716; horses 593,454, a decrease of 2859; sheep, 38,222,377, an increase of 180,964.
