A German engineer named Williner landed in a balloon on tlie Jura mountains after a flight of forty-seven hours, during which he covered a distance of 1876 miles. THE ROUND THE WORLD RACE. New York, February 16. The Aeronautical Society urges that the proposed round-the-world race be abandoned. The Society is of the opinion that it is impracticable, and urges a Trans-continental trip instead.
