AUSTRALIANS WIN. [Pee Peess Association.J Wellington, February 16. The Australian cricketers defeated Wellington by seven wickets. When the match was resumed to-day, Wellington bad lost live wickets for 32 runs. The rest only added 39. Requiring 149 to win, the visitors accomplished this in 83 minutes, and playing on, they made 2G7 for seven wickets. THE PLUNKET SHIELD. Dunodin, February 16. The cricket match between Canterbury and Otago for the Plunket Shield was concluded to-day, the visitors winning by an innings and 32 runs. Canterbury made 412 in the first innings and Otago 190 in tbo first and 215 in the second innings. (From Our Correspondent.) A cricket match was played on Sunday between Whanga. and Kohuratahi at Whanga, and resulted in a win for Kohuratahi by eight wickets and three runs. Kohuratahi batted first, and made a fine score. Whanga started their batting after lunch, and made a poor stand in the first innings. Kohuratahi, having a large number of runs to the good, sent Whanga in to bat again.
