ACCIDENT IN MOTOR RACE.
MACHINE TAKES CONTROL. SPECTATOR KILLED AND FIVE INJURED. [Br Electric Telegraph—copyright [United Press Association.] (Received 1.10 p.m.) New York, February 16. While travelling fifty miles an hour at Los Angeles, Dave Lewis, an entrant in the Vanderbilt Cup race, lost control of his motor and dashed into the crowd, killing a war veteran and injuring five spectators, three of whom were women. Lewis' condition is serious. He was pinned with the mechanician under the overturned car.
