The King's Bench awarded William Bird, a common informer, £13,000 and costs against Sir Stuart Montagu Samuel (Liberal M.P. for Tower Hamlets, Whitechapel D.), the amount representing the aggregate penalties for voting in the House of Comomns while he was a contractor lor the supply of silver to the India Office. STAY OF EXECUTION GRANTED. (Received 9.30 a.m.) London, February 16. Judge Rowlatt, under a statute of the year 1801, awarded £SOO for each of twenty-six votes, but granted a stay of execution. Plaintiff pointed out that under the Indemnity Bill it was asked that the money be paid into Court. The application was refused.
