Ruin to the Army.

HOME RULE FOR IRELAND. THE GOVERNMENT’S CONFESSION. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [U./xted Press 'Association.] (Received 8.10 a.in.) London, February 13. In the House of Lords, Lord Londonderry incidentally quoted General Wolseley’s letter to the Duke of Cambridge in 1893, stating that if the troops were brought into conflict with the Ulster loyalists it would shake the foundations of tire Army. Lord Roberts followed in a halfminute speech, and endorsed General Wolseley’s contentions. He declared it was unthinkable that the British Army should be called to fight the Ulster volunteers. It would bo the Army’s ruin. Lord Curzon pointed out that the Government now confessed that Homo Rule in its present form could not be placed on the Statute Book.
