NEW PLYMOUTH RACES. 'l'he Taranaki Jockey Club was again favored with splendid weather for yesterday’s racing. The sum of £16,855 was passed through the tola lisa tor, as against £12,611 lUs on the corresponding day last year. The total investments for the meeting were £32,833 10s, an increase of £7379 on last year’s* figures. Additional results: — Paul Memorial Handicap, of 250 sovs*—4 Mr A. Alexander’s rn g Patronale, syrs, by Patronus—Vivandel, 7.5 (R. Berry), 1; 1 Mr lan Duncan’s ch g Los Angelos, 2; 7 Mr J. H. Walter’s ch g Goldsize, 3. Also started: 3 Allegation, 2 Byron, Cheddar; 5 Peroneal, 9 Tetikura, 10 Coromandel and 8 Crawford. Winner trained by R. Barlow. Passing the stand Coromandel, Cheddar, Allegation and Peroneal wore most prominent of a bunched lot. At six furlongs Coromandel still showed the way lo Cheddar and Allegation, with Patronale now in fourth place. Cheddar then retired and Patronale collared Coromandel three furlongs from home and Los Angelos was coming fast. Patronale turned for homo with a lead of a couple of lengths, which he maintained to the finish. Los Angelos was second, a. head in front of Goldsize, who came fast in the straight. Cheddar was fourth and then came Byron, Allegation and Peroneal. Time, Imin 57 2-ssec. Second Welter Handicap, of IUO sovs; seven furlongs.—l Mr W. After lengthy deliberation the decision of the stewards was that the owner, Mr H.’ C. Curtis, trainer (Mr R. Johnson), jockey (C. Price) and horse (Toatore) be disqualified for six months.
