A DETERMINED SIMCItJE. Christchurch, February H. At an rally hour this morning John Cartin', resident at Colombo Street, ion ml the body ot his brother, Robert Renneu Carter, hanging from a branch ol a tree in the back yard. Deceased, who was 40 years of age, was a single man and a carpenter by trade. He had been eccentric in bis manner and behaviour for some time past. At the jnquost, a verdict was returned that deceased committed suicide while temporarily Insane. MINER SERIOUSLY INJURED. Dunedin, February 11. Robert Waddingtou, a middle-aged man, was admitted to tlie hospital to-night, suffering from a fractured skull. While he was working in the’ 1 Kaitangata mine, a piece of iron flew from a moving truck and hit him.
