ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
A CASE OF SUICIDE. [Pbb Press Association. 1 Dunedin, February 9. The body of the man found at Taliuna Park yesterday has been identified as that of Frank Ashton, a minor, from Nokomai. The medical evidence at the inquest showed that a small wound had been found over the left wrist, as if an attempt had been made to cut an artery. At the elbow joint of the same arm there was a large wound, which had cut through all the tissues down to the bone. The heart was empty, indicating that death was due to loss of blood. A verdict of suicide was returned. AUCKLAND BOATING FATALITY. Auckland, February 0. Search parties on Saturday evening found the bodies of Myrtle Amelia Rowan and Robert Wilfred Gordon, who were lost from the launch Artoino in a very rough sea on the evening of Anniversary Day. The bodies had been washed on to the rocks of Rangitoto Island. At the inquest to-day, the coroner ' returned a verdict of accidental drowning, and referred in complimentary terms to the action of young Gordon, who had lost his life in endeavoring to save the girl.
