THE KSKUYU CHARGES. MEETING THE CHARGES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyrighi, [United Press Association.] London, February 8. The Bishop of Zanzibar lias arrived to appeal to the Archbishop of Canterbury regarding the Kikuyu charges. PROCEEDINGS STAYED. FAR-REACHING PROPOSALS. (Received 10.20 a.m.) London, February 9. The Archbishop of Canterbury, after hearing the Bishop of Zanzibar's charges, and the Bishop of Uganda's statement, declines to permit the proceedings for heresy and schism, but as questions of far-reaching importance are raised he proposes to submit the matter to the Central Consultative Committee, which meets in July. The Committee consists of certain English and Colonial prelates, including the Archbishop of Sydney and Dr. Wallis, ex-Bishop of Wellington.
