THE COST OF LIVING.
NOT HIGHER IN SYDNEY.

The Federal Statistician reports that the cost of living did not increas3 during 1913. There was a general upward tendency in 1912, but during the last vear this ceased.
The prices of groceries was found to be nearly three per cent, lower, but reiK§ had advanced another five per cent.
The average cost of living, therefore, was about the same for two years.
