RIFLE SHOOTING.

MEETING AT WAIWAKAIHO. The annual shooting meeting of the Taranaki Rifle Association was concluded on the Bewa Rewa range, Waiwakaiho, yesterday. The final shots for the championship were exciting, Loveday and Gilshnan 'icing very close in their scores, Gilshnan finally winning. The teams match brought out a record number of entries, ten competing. The standard of shooting was, on the whole, low. Whangamomona, who were last hut one of a field of nine last year, won with 460 points, by the narrow margin of two points from Kaponga A. who got home ahead last year. The only possible of the day was put on in this match by Sergeant Reg. Sole, of B Coy.. Xew Plymouth, at 500 yards.

The Tisch Memorial Challenge Cup was presented to the Association by the late Mr G. Tisch, Mayor of New Plymouth. It is to be open to teams of five men from any Territorial company or Defence Rifle Club, and is to ho held tor I'2 months.by the winners. Winners to date are:—
