TARANAKI SHOW.
The Metropolitan Society of this district is holding its 39th Annual Show and 2nd Autumn Show on February 25th and 26th. Until last" year this Society like the majority of other Societies in New Plymouth, held its'Annual-Show in-the spring each year, but as it was always unfortunate with the weather it was decided to change to the autumn. That this change is a popular bne is shown hj the great number of entries that have been received from settlors who have never yet exhibited at any,show, and .also by the keen interest that is being taken'by all the 'country people who, now the busy season is OvciV liavq made tip their minds to have a couple of dayfc at Taranaki’s big function] j A glance at the'Schedule will be sjifiicient in'convincifig anyone that tilosp : whb h.We made* dp their minds' to a|ttend he 'Show bill 'Have plenty to interest thbm. have been introduced this year including a harnessing and unharnessing competition for, ladies, jj "competition, and a gift calf competition. The latter competition seems to meet with general favor as numerous Gentries have already been,receiv*ed,‘ and a- number of others promised. The schedule Kas been arranged with great care by those who Jiave had the experience of years, so that the wants of one and ajl are provided for.
