Humphrey, with the executive. Rfm. T. King proposed that future matches, with the exception of teams’ matches, should not be more than two ranges. Three-range matches, he considered, were out of date.-: Rfm. C. Jackson seconded this, and also suggested that prizes should bo given for a short range and long-range aggregate.—The resolution was carried.
Lieut. Hartnell said that up to the present they had not had sufficient funds to make the meeting attractive for outsiders, hut they hoped to do more in this direction in future. He emphasised the tact that this -was a Taranaki meeting, and not a New Plymouth one.
Sergeant-Major Bond stated that service matches should he included so as to cater for ..Territorials. Territorials,* he said, were not used to hull’s-pye shooting, and would not compete against riflemen, who were always using the hull’s-eye. This led to some controversy, hut
the majority of members were of opinion that men who first learnt hull seye shooting could learn service coadditions more readily.
