Lord Rosebery is sleeping better and making good progress, states a London cablegram.
Mr Deem, supervisor of the Department of Agriculture, is at present in the Stratford district on a tour of inspection.
Dr. F. W. King, of Auckland, who was picked up near the rails of the tramline in Wellesley street on the veiling of Friday, January 9,'and who has been lying since the following day in a private hospital suffering from a fractured skull, is reported to be still in a serious condition (says the New Zealand Herald). He regains consciousness at intervals only.
Mr Ernest Olson has .been appointed Town Clerk of Inglewood, and will sever his connection as accountant with the Fresh Food and Ice Supply Company of Wanganui, taking up his new duties in about a fortnight’s time. The appointment is a popular one in Inglewood, Mr Olson being well known and practically, a native of the town.
