SWIMMING. HANDICAP CHAMPION CUP. The lieats of the 50yds distance of the Handicap Champion Cup were swum at the ha'ths last night. Following are details of the racing: First heat: B. V. Kivell (ssec) 1, Sprat! (9sec) 2. Also started: Wilkie (lOsec), (iollop (1-lsec). A close finish. Wilkie and dollop, who stopped about ten yards from home, could have done with more start. Time, -15 2-osec. Second heat: Whittington (lOsec) 1, E. 1:1. Kivell (scr) 2. Also started: Dewar (Ssec) and Oxley (llsec). The placed men were close together and the other two were also close, two yards away Time 4 2 sec. Third heat: Kelly (lOsec) I, C. M. Kivell (1 see) 2. Also started : C. L. Kivell (6sec). A close finish. Time, 42sec. The final is to he swum at the end of the week. Next week the heats of the 75yds distance will be swum. POLO AT INGLEWOOD. It is the intention of the Stratford Club to send a polo team to compete at the Inglewood carnival on February 13th, and it is hoped to arrange a practice at the local bath at an early date. It is desirable that a Stratford team should be got going, as it is probable that two or three outside teams will be present at the local club’s carnival on February 17th.
