EDUCATION BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Taraialvi Education Board on Wednesday, here were present: Messrs H. Trimble tin the chair), A. Morton, W. L. iCennedy, A. A. Halcombe, H. Masters, G. A. Adlam, Young and Rogers. Leave of absence was granted to Mr Y M. Bradbury. Inspector’s Report. The Chief Inspector, Mr W. A. Baliantyue, reported that some of the teachers 'had been very irregular in '■-heir attendance at the Saturday ■lasses. Seeing that provision had >een made whereby teachers, without expense to themselves, had an opportunity of improving their efficiency, md at the same time qualifying for i certificate, he thought the Board night reasonably expect that the tea■hers should earnestly endeavour to alee full advantage of the courses prodded. He would recommend that the eachers who had attended very irregularly (according to the list appended) ie asked if they had any explanation to offer.

A grant, of £lO was made to the I'aranaki Rugby Union towards the \lf. Bayly Memorial Scholarships for be years 1.013 and 1914. Mr I’. Skoglund, secretary of the •’aranaki Rugby Union, wrote advising that -Master C. A. Lawn, of the Stratford School, had won the Alf. Bavly Memorial Scholarship.

Tim resignations of Misses Hill Whangamomona) and Brown (Hurinoana) were accepted. An extra £‘l was granted to tho Mat.au School Committee towards aslimiting the 'shelter-shed floor and the paths.
