Harry Henderson was commit-: ted for sentence on a charge of forging the name of G. Henry to a cheque for £0 10s 6d. Henry was » remittance. -iinnn, and on the same day as Henderson was arrested. Henry was taken to the.liosuital sulfering from a fractured skull. It is unknown how the injury was received, but it resulted fatally. The Coroner’s inquest is not yet concluued.

At the fpiiual meeting of the New Zealand Institute Board of Governors which is being hold to-day, feeling reference was made to the death of Mr Hamilton, director of the Dominion Museum, and to the valuable work he had done in the cause ol science. The president’s address reviewed* the transactions of the Institute during the past twelve months. Regarding Antarctic exploration work lie "stated that if expeditions meet as they hoped to meet with the success they deserve, Antarctic would soon be one of the best scientifically explored portions of tbc earth, and New Zealand problems connected therewith would bo within measurable reach ol satisfactory solution.
