A party of nine young people, including lour ladies, on returning in a motor launch from a trip in the gulf, encountered a heavy sea oil' Takapuna Beach.

I The launch-shipped a big wave and (Miss Myrtle Rowan and Kay Bevins were washed overboard. The launch was stopped and W. Good and Robert Gordon dived overboard.
